  • Currently, they have over 2,000 students.
  • They offer 11 programs with over 80 courses, along with a variety of various conferences, workshops and special trainings each year.
  • They have 25 faculty, which are Lecturers and Professors.
  • They are registered with Kenya’s Ministry of Education and offer a variety of certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas in Christian Ministry, Chaplaincy, Evangelism, Children Workers, Bible & Theology and Biblical Counseling.

By responding to God’s call to come and serve at MBI, you will be coming alongside a fruitful ministry that for 40 years has been having an impact across East Africa. Through joining our team, your work at MBI will help fortify the African church and continue to expand gospel proclamation and church planting in the East African region.

Great Awakenings history with MBI.

  • In 2018, Clint Decker first travelled to Kenya in partnership with ELLS International. Through that trip he met people connected with MBI and also Dr. Bishop George Muguro, Principle of the college.
  • In 2020, Great Awakenings was able to assist MBI through a difficult period during Covid-19 lockdowns in Kenya. We were also blessed to provide funding to build and remodel needed bathroom and shower facilities on campus for the students and faculty.
  • In August 2022 Clint taught his first class to MBI students via a zoom call.
  • In April 2023 Clint travelled to MBI for the first time, where he taught an evangelism class, along with multiple preaching engagements.
  • In August 2023 Clint led his second evangelism class via zoom to MBI students.
  • In December 2023 Manna Church (on the campus of MBI) launched a homeless ministry outreach. Clint was invited to preach the gospel via zoom to a large group of homeless families as part of a Christmas ministry to them.
  • In June 2024 Clint travelled to Kenya for the second year in a row teaching an evangelism class to MBI students. Joining him was Great Awakenings very first mission’s team member, Gabe Hedman. He was a ministry student at Manhattan Christian College. Together, they preached and taught multiple times, ministering to many.

  • Repair/replacement of ceilings in classrooms and dormitories.
  • Replacement of pin-up boards in classrooms.
  • Replacement of classroom door.
  • Repair of floors in library and classrooms.
  • Installation of ceiling in library.
  • Repair of library wall.
  • Repairs on eight shower stalls: plumbing, walls, floors, ceilings and exterior.
  • Repairs on electrical outlets in various rooms.

What will a ministry student do?

Classes. One primary goal is to learn. You will become a fellow student, alongside your fellow African brothers and sisters in Christ. You will be attending the week-long evangelism taught by Clint Decker. Daily, you will be listening to lectures, engaging in small group discussions, taking notes and will have a final exam like all the other students.

Personal evangelism. Another goal is to get real-time ministry experience. After a full day of classes, you will partner with your fellow students and hit the streets. You will go out into the neighborhood and engage people with conversation and share the gospel.

Festival evangelism. Each evening after students return from talking with people about Christ, you will have the opportunity to participate in nightly evangelistic festivals. These are outdoor events that utilize music, testimony and preaching to proclaim Christ in various neighborhoods.

Other ministry opportunities. In the coming months there will be further plans laid out. You will have chances to preach, lead Bible studies and do much ministry.

If you choose to come the days will be long, but the work will be life changing for yourself and the people you will be serving.  Please click here to receive more information. In the subject type “MBI” and in the message type “I would like for more information.”
